“How many times have you accepted defeat before even trying? we are so quick to limit ourselves, deciding who we are and who we aren’t and that’s it. We define our identities – our strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, and beliefs – but this rigid defining can hinder us from seeing the potential that God sees. We stay in our little identity boxes, not allowing ourselves to be stretched or challenged. we accept the world’s made-up rules for who we are supposed to be, and we believe we cannot break those rules.”
3 years ago I decided to take a leap. For me it wasn’t a stepping stone or even a little skip…it was a giant, scary, jumping between two cliffs kind of leap. My inbox was flooding with questions from aspiring photographers wanting to know more about their camera, the business of photography, how I got started ect. So this small town girl filled to the brim with fear decided to leap into teaching. I’ve always been drawn to teaching (which is good since I homeschool 3 of my 4 boys) and God has continued to grow this passion through photography. Three years ago I took a leap…and I never want to look back. I absolutely find so much joy and fulfillment sitting in a room with aspiring photographers, laughing, sipping on coffee and witnessing that “lightbulb” moment when they get it. I would love to sit with you and talk about your camera, light and subjects. I would be so honored if you joined me in chatting about fears, failures, goals, successes and business. I don’t teach thinking I have it all figured out but i teach because it’s a passion God has given me and I don’t want get through this life and think “what if”.
Basic DSLR Workshop
This workshop is all about your camera! It is intended to get you out of Auto Mode and encourages you to take full control of your vision and images by executing Manual Mode. This 4 hour workshop is complete with fellowship with out aspiring photographers, hearing my story, learning Manual Mode, testing out light, practicing your skill on a model family or couple and a time for questions about anything and everything. I value community over competition and am an open book!

This workshop is a follow up workshop from the Basic DSLR Workshop. You already know Manual Mode, you’re starting to acquire some business and you have loads of questions on the do’s and don’t’s and editing and workflow and your mind is spinning like crazy! This workshop allows me to walk you through my workflow, allows you to see my editing process as well as basic business tips that took me way too long to figure out on my own! Sit besides other photographers who “get it”, who are right there with you and form a community that encourages, not competes.

So you know how to use your camera in manual mode. You have a steady clientele base and now you just need a little motivational kick in your posing!
