Almost every weekend in the summer during my High School years, I would travel north with my boyfriends (now husbands) family. They had a cottage on Upper Silver Lake. We would spend weekends on the water, in the dunes and every Sunday after church Grandma B would go to this market. She would buy warm bread and cherry strudel from Barb and bring it back home. We would gather at the table as a family and eat. Sometimes it was quiet and sometimes it was loud. Grandma B was a hard woman, but she loved her family. I remember her hair done the same way, every day of the week. Her finger nails were long and filled with dirt because she found her passion in the garden. I am a sucker for tradition. So when Allison mentioned wanting to go to a Lavender field for her engagement pictures I was happy to make a visit to this place. The cottage is not ours anymore and too many people have passed where it just isn’t the same. So I got their early and walked inside to purchase some bread and cherry strudel. To end the day with this visit, these memories and an engaged couple was to say the least, a good day.
Enjoy this sweet couples engagement session. Their love is real friends. I cannot wait for their wedding day!
